Celebrating Creativity and the Rhythm of Nature

There is a magical golden lense of enchantment within each child, where mindful practice and the love for nature naturally reside at the core of their being. This great love deserves and demands deep nourishment and care. The preservation of this love needs to be at the heart of the family. Deep conversations, plenty of time spent in nature, creativity and connection are the fibres that will weave the tapestry of a rich and wholesome childhood.

Each and every day, a opportunity to romance the ordinary and discover the magic within. The daily magic is simply waiting to be enjoyed, savoured and cherished by simply, connecting with your child. Through creativity you have a opportunity to take a breath in from the world around you. An opportunity to truly see each other, in a moment of magical connection and joy.

Even if it is fifteen or twenty minutes a day, you are giving your child a moment of time to look forward to, where the world is yours, together. A mindful moment to create, play and connect and leave the world behind.

As a creative, I find routine, impossible. The beauty of rhythm is it is the natural way of going about your day without the structure and set in stone expectations that can come with the idea of routine. It is the greeting in the morning, a warm breakfast in the table and soft music playing, the lighting of a candle at meal times, meals at the table and a centre piece of nature finds.

Choosing to reflect and celebrate each and every season quickly becomes the blue print to a creative life.

The rhythm of nature can be celebrated by:

  1. Daily nature walks – at a set time each day, rain hail or shine go for a walk, bask in all the glory mother nature has to offer. Take a collection bag!
  2. Seasonal nature tables – celebrate the seasons with a small table dedicated to mother earth.
  3. Seasonal crafting – Take inspiration from the treasures you find and let your imagination guide you.
  4. Bring the outdoors in – A vase of fresh flowers on the table, a bowl of collected shells or rocks, a beautiful tree branch to be used for hanging art. the options are endless.
  5. Nurture a garden – A garden is the perfect honouring of the seasons of nature.
